This blog is created from the journal I've kept while documenting and reflecting on research during a masters' degree in design at the University of the West of England.

Thoughts about design: A user-centred approach.

November 25, 2016

I went to a talk by Tom Metcalfe. He spoke about the process of taking the ideas, generated from the diverging research process and creating lo-fi prototypes. He also engages with an audience very early on to test the ideas.

User-centred design is something I have been thinking about. If the end user won’t engage with the solution then, no matter how well engineered and thought out the solution, it will be a failure. It is better to spend some money at the early stages of a project to find this out, than to invest in something that won’t engage the end user.
